The Van Petten name has changed through the centuries, as have our long line
of V.P. "cousins". The journey of our family has been a long one, therefore, I
would like to dedicate these pages to all V.P.'s - past, present and future.
We always welcome additional statistical and biographical information for, and
corrections to our files on the Van Petten, Van Patten, Van Patter, Van Patton
and related family lines. Data is on computer and CD (.GED, & .FTW) as an
ongoing project contributed by members of the V.P. families in various states
and provinces. Fran Hindmarsh's last book (2003) Van Patten Ancestry is a
family member "must read" and should be on every "V.P." coffee table.
I hope you enjoy reading these pages as much as I had creating them. Jerrold W. Wilson [My mother, Sarah (Van Patten) Wilson - is a Van Patten in Schenectady, NY; 2011]

Older Books (2003) Are No Longer Available:
Fran (Van Patter) Hindmarsh's last Van Patten family book (384 pages) (year
2000/2003) was her third edition and was the most recent update to our family
lines in book format. It was available, at cost for less than $30. US and
included shipping, but is no longer available. Sorry.
Fran had been putting the finishing touches on her latest and final update (2005)
edition of the Van Patten book. The "book" should be available on a CD and it
will be up to the purchaser to take this CD to their local "print shop" to have it
transferred into book format.
We apologize for the inconvenience, but since the last update in 2003, the "Van
Patten" family book (2005) has grown from 384 pages, to almost 500 pages - -
with so many new "V.P." family lines and additions/updates to existing "V.P."
families, that the cost of printing multiple copies of the "V.P." family book is
just too cost prohibitive (we do this for free and for the love of our "V.P."
ancestry and we are not rich people).
Fran is enjoying her 85th year of youth and would just like to take it easy now
and her daughter Kathy has kindly tried to take over the huge task of
completing Fran's last and largest edition of the "Van Patten" family book. I
hope that one and all can please understand with great patients and continue to
contribute their "V.P." family information to me at the email address listed
below.
Thank you so very much for your many emails and generous "V.P." family
contributions and updates that bring us into the 21st century. Please keep the
updates and new "V.P." family information coming.

*** NEW - - A wonderful family member, Warren A. Roderick of Kirkland,
WA has taken the initiative upon himself to take one of Fran's "sample" 2005 CD
of "Van Patten" and transform it into a usable CD that is able to be printed into
a valued "Van Patten" family book by anyone who purchases the "V.P." family
CD and turns it in to their local print shop for a printed version for themselves
and or others.
We are only in the "trial" stages as of yet, but believe that we are close to a book
production quality CD for one and all to purchase at a nominal fee of covering
costs of the disc and postage. Again, please remember that we do this for free,
because of our love of V.P. genealogy and we are not rich people, so we must
charge for materials used and we never - ever charge for our "labor cost" of love.
